Research

I’m Peggy Bendler. My research centres on ritual and contemplative systems —
the forms through which attention, practice, and meaning are shaped and passed
on.

Focus

I work at the meeting point of textual study and lived practice, across Tibetan Buddhist traditions, with particular attention to the Ro snyoms skor drug, the ‘Sixfold Cycle of Equal Taste’, a set of contemplative and ritual instructions transmitted within the aural lineage (snyan brgyud), and to how such contemplative cycles move between text, ritual, and lived practice.
